Please also plan to join me at the 25th Annual Inc. 500 Conference and Awards Ceremony. If you attended earlier this year in Savannah, you know how much of a success our most recent Inc. 500 Conference was.
We were honored to have former President Clinton give one of the keynote speeches. Our guests also heard Bernie Marcus tell the story of how he co-founded Home Depot, and Inc.’s 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year, Ping Fu, shared her journey from being a penniless immigrant from a Chinese prison to becoming a successful entrepreneur. The event ended with an awards ceremony hosted by Norm Brodsky, the author of Inc.’s popular Street Smarts column.

This year gives us even more reason to celebrate as we commemorate the silver anniversary of the Inc. 500 Conference and Awards Ceremony. Please join us in San Francisco as we celebrate your accomplishments as well as take a look back at the companies that have appeared on the Inc. 500 over the past 25 years.

I hope to see you in San Francisco!

Jarrett Logistics Systems Named to Entrepreneur Hot 100 List

ORRVILLE, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 2, 2004--Jarrett Logistics Systems, Inc. (JLS), a third-party logistics company specializing in transportation management services for mid-sized North American companies, has been named to Entrepreneur magazine's 10th annual Hot 100 list of America's fastest-growing new companies. This is the second time that the company has been named to this exclusive list.

Compiled by Entrepreneur and D&B, the Hot 100 list consists of companies that were founded no earlier than 1999 and had annual sales exceeding $1 million in 2003. Entrepreneur measures each business' sales growth from the date of inception, listing the companies in order of growth. JLS is ranked number 87 on the year's list, which appears in the June issue of Entrepreneur.

" One of the keys to our rapid growth has been our ability to streamline distribution processes and use our buying power to help fast-growing, mid-sized businesses with complex supply chains achieve substantial savings on their transportation expenses," said Mike Jarrett, president of JLS. "We also have a dedicated team of professionals who are skilled at identifying and executing improvements in our customers' supply chains."

Downsizing also has created opportunities for smaller companies. Bigger businesses, having expanded significantly in the go-go '90s, have been cutting jobs over the past two years, and offloading work onto small businesses. Mr. Jarrett, of Jarrett Logistics Systems, Inc., finds himself picking up work managing deliveries that companies once did themselves. "They can reduce internal cost -- whether payroll, head count or infrastructure -- and shift that cost to a third party such as us," he says. The formula seems to be working: Revenue has nearly quadrupled this year for his logistics firms and 51% for his package-shipping company. He has added about five people this year, which represents 30% job growth, and recently invested in a new warehouse.

JARRETT LOGISTICS SYSTEMS ADDS CLIENT TO TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT ROSTER

ORRVILLE, Ohio – Jarrett Logistics Systems, Inc. (JLS), a third-party logistics company specializing in transportation management services that was recently named to Entrepreneur magazine's Hot 100 listing of America's fastest-growing new companies, has secured a contract from Medina, Ohio-based Corrpro Companies, Inc. (AMEX: CO), the leading provider of corrosion protection engineering services, systems and equipment. Corrpro will rely on JLS to coordinate all inbound and outbound shipments from its facilities in Medina, Tulsa and Houston.

Through its centralized routing center and proprietary SHIP Systems (Shipment Handling and Information Planning) software that details transit and rate information, JLS logistics coordinators select the least-cost, best-service carrier for each customer shipment using preferred truckload, less-than-truckload, air freight and expedited transportation providers and coordinate pick up and delivery arrangements.  In addition to routing shipments, JLS is also handling all freight bill payment, claims processing, shipment tracking and carrier management functions, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring, for Corrpro.

" For most companies, transportation management is not a core competency," explained Mike Jarrett, president of JLS.  "By outsourcing this function to JLS, our clients gain better control over their distribution operations and streamline processes.  We also use our collective buying power to help them achieve better rates and improve overall service performance."

" We looked at the total cost of ownership and concluded that there was real value in outsourcing our transportation management function," remarked Mike Baach, Executive Vice President for Corrpro.  "One of the prime considerations in awarding the contract to JLS was our belief that the firm can maintain our high level of service to our customers."
